Chelsea Green Reveals How Ready She Is For MITB, Carmelo Hayes On Being Thrown In The Deep End

Chelsea Green will face IYO SKY, Naomi, Lyra Valkyria, Tiffany Stratton and Zoey Stark in a women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match this Saturday night at the WWE Money in the Bank 2024 pay-per-view event.

During a recent appearance on the “Wrestling With Freddie” podcast, Green discussed her preparation for the big match and her past experience competing in a Queen of the Mountain match in TNA Wrestling. She said:

“I’m probably more ready than any of these girls. For so many different reasons, but mostly because one of the last matches I did with TNA, before I went back to WWE for the second time, was Queen of the Mountain, which was actually a TLC match. I’m not scared of that at all. In fact, it could be an elevating moment for me with the WWE Universe because they’ve only seen me do some crazy, fun stuff online. They haven’t seen it in person yet.”

In a recent interview with CBS Sports’ Shakiel Mahjouri, WWE Superstar Carmelo Hayes discussed their participation in the Money in the Bank match at this weekend’s pay-per-view event, LA Knight and Logan Paul’s name mix-up, and more.

You can check out some excerpts from the interview below:

On his “Ruthless Aggression” moment with Adam Cole: “I remember they hated it the first time I did it… I was a little hesitant to do something that had already been done. It’s such an iconic moment. I remember Shawn tweeting something like, ‘It worked for the last guy.’”

On being used to being thrown in at the deep end: “I’d be lying if I said it was new because I feel like they did the same thing when I got to NXT. They immediately put me in a match against Kushida for the heavyweight championship, Adam Cole and put me in the Breakout Tournament. I’ve been in these high-pressure, sink-or-swim situations for as long as I can remember. I’ve proven every time that I’m a swimmer and that I deserve these opportunities.”

On his clash with Cody Rhodes on SmackDown: “To put myself in the same position as WWE Champion Cody Rhodes who just dethroned Roman Reigns (at WrestleMania 40) and be the first person he’s in the ring with is a huge confidence boost. I wanted to prove that I was that caliber and that I was the right guy. I was going to go out there and have a quality match with the WWE Champion and even if I lost, look good.”

On mixing up the names LA Knight and Logan Paul: “People used to tease me. He’s fast. He’s attentive to things. That’s just the way it is. I’m not perfect, buddy… We used to laugh about it. That’s just the way it is.”
