West Ham have received an improved offer in the region of £40million for defender Max Kilman, which has been accepted by Wolves.

Last month, the Hammers had their opening bid of £25million rejected by Wolves for their captain, which was considerably lower than the Molineux club’s valuation.

But West Ham have increased their offer by around £15million and have reached an agreement with Wolves for a transfer for the 27-year-old.

Wolves manager Gary O’Neil and captain Max Kilman must face off against five randomly selected footballers, one of whom is a current or former professional and four of whom are impostors. Can the duo figure out who the real pro is?

New Irons boss Julen Lopetegui is now set to reunite with Kilman, who he managed during his nine months in charge of Wolves.

Kilman is set to leave Molineux after six years at the club after joining from non-League side Maidenhead United in August 2018.

Kilman, who made 151 appearances in all competitions for the club, only signed a new long-term contract with Wolves less than 12 months ago following interest from Napoli last summer.

West Ham could be in the market for two centre-backs in this summer’s transfer window.

Internal discussions continue over whether they will return for the Nice defender. Jean-Clair Todibo after seeing a €30m (£25.4m) bid rejected by the French club.

West Ham are also in talks with Lyon over the signing of the Irish international defender. Jake O’Brien.

Last month, the Hammers saw a deal to sign the Flamengo defender Fabrice Bruno break up on personal grounds.

When does the summer transfer window open and close?

THE Summer transfer window 2024 in the Premier League and Scottish Premiership is officially open.

The window will close on 30th August at 11pm UK time in England and 11.30pm in Scotland.

The Premier League and Scottish Premiership have brought forward the deadline to link up with other major European leagues. The deadlines were set following discussions with leagues in England, Germany, Italy, Spain and France.
