Thieves greet and hug each other after robbing California jewelry store: Caught on camera

A CCTV video showing a group of thieves partying after robbing a jewelry store in West Hollywood, California has surfaced online. Robert Goukasian, owner of Huener Jewelry, took to Instagram to recount the incident and also shared videos that have now gone viral.

“Our family owned and operated jewelry store in West Hollywood for over 40 years was robbed. Everything was gone. Our entire inventory was stolen. Both safes were ransacked,” Robert said in the caption of his post, which also included a video capturing the destruction caused by the thieves after the store was burglarized.

Robert stated in his post that the alarm system never went off despite having many sensors installed.

“We have security cameras that they failed to destroy and they are going to release the second part. These thieves are very sophisticated. They used powerful blowtorches. They attacked our store twice in one day. Once early in the morning. Then they came back in the evening to retrieve the second safe,” Robert said.

He recorded this video as he entered the store after the thieves robbed it.

In another video, the robbers are seen high-fiving and hugging each other while robbing the safe.

Netizens had mixed opinions about the video. “They’re there hugging and congratulating each other like they just won the World Cup. Unbelievable,” one netizen said.

Several users also asked Robert to “check his entourage,” suggesting that it could be an “inside job.”

“They knew exactly what kind of safe it was and how to get in there. Check your surroundings,” one user said.

However, Robert responded to these comments and said that this was not the case.

The jewelry store, shortly after the incident, responded to those who sent messages of support.

“We want to thank everyone for reaching out to us. We appreciate all of the support from the community. We are working hard to reopen with new inventory very soon,” Huener Jewelry said.
