Cincinnati announces the arrival of Jordan Robinson

CINCINNATI – Head coach of the Cincinnati football team Scott Satterfield announced the official addition of University of Kentucky transfer Jordan Robinson on Wednesday.

A defensive back for Columbia SC, Robinson has two years of eligibility remaining.

Robinson spent two seasons at UK, appearing in 11 games in 2023 as a reserve defensive back. He racked up 13 tackles and two pass breakups, making his lone appearance as a starter against Tennessee. He recorded a season-high three tackles in games against Akron and Georgia.

Prior to his stint at Kentucky, Robinson played at Livingstone College as a freshman in 2021. He appeared in 10 games that season, recording 26 tackles, two interceptions and six pass breakups.

Robinson was an all-region honoree at Westwood High School, playing wide receiver for much of his high school career before switching to defensive back as a senior.

Led by the head coach Scott SatterfieldCincinnati begins its second season in the Big 12 this fall. In 2023, the Bearcats ranked fifth in the country in rushing, with a 1,000-yard rusher returning Corey Kiner and their entire offensive line. Cincinnati also brings back All-Americans: right guard Luc KandraDefensive tackle Dontay “The Godfather” Corleone and punter Mason Fletcher.

Two historic rivalries return to Nippert Stadium with Pitt coming to town for the first time since 2012 and West Virginia traveling to the Queen City for the first time since Isaiah Pead led the Bearcats to a 24-21 victory in 2009. Cincinnati will also open the season against Towson while hosting TCU for the first time since 2004 and Arizona State for the first time ever. Additionally, Houston returns to Nippert Stadium for the first time since the Bearcats’ 35-20 victory in the 2021 AAC Championship, a triumph that secured Cincinnati’s spot in the 2021 College Football Playoff.
