James Gunn’s DCU reboot starring Superman Filming is in full swing, with exciting new developments on set. Recent appearances in Cleveland confirm the presence of Nathan Fillion and Isabela Merced in their superhero outfits as Guy Gardner and Hawkgirl.

Fillion sports Gardner’s signature bowl cut and a revamped suit with more white accents, featuring the Lordtech logo similar to Mr. Terrific’s costume. Though seen from the side, Merced sports a comic-accurate outfit and wields Hawkgirl’s iconic mask.

The star-studded cast also includes Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho. Sara Sampaio, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell have also joined the cast. Supergirl, played by Milly Alcock, is expected to make an appearance, setting the stage for her own appearance. Woman of tomorrow film, even if it’s just a rumor, at least for now.

While details on how these superheroes will intersect with Superman’s story remain vague, these characters could serve as Superman’s friends, which could hint at many comic book superheroes making appearances in live-action films.

People aren’t big fans of these superhero outfits

I’m not really a fan of the look but I guess we’ll have to wait and see. I know Fillion can play Gardner well in terms of attitude and characterization but I would have preferred if they had chosen a younger actor. But if the story is good it doesn’t matter.

If I said I loved these costumes, I would be lying.

But I understand that Hawkgirl’s costume requires post-production, and I also believe that these are team costumes, which are different from the costumes we’re used to seeing these characters wear.
