Princeton residents are getting ready for the upcoming First Friday Concert!

PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) — Princeton residents are eagerly awaiting another First Friday concert coming to the city on July 5, 2024 — especially since an art walk has also been added to the event.

The First Fridays concert series, which began when COVID restrictions were lifted, was a way to bring people together as a community again.

Lori McKinney, director of the RiffRaff Arts Collective, said they go all out for these events.

“Here on the square, it’s a festive atmosphere. We have free crafts for kids, we have craft and food vendors, and just recently Shannon Shine of Shine Time Studios started an art walk as part of First Fridays,” McKinney said. “So there are visual artists lining the streets starting at 4 p.m. That leads up to the concert from 6 to 9 p.m. So it’s a whole evening of creativity, a great way to enjoy the Grassroots District.”

McKinney said Shannon Shine of Shine Time Studios and Lacey Vilandry of Silver Arrow Art will be among the artists painting along the streets.

John Bolt, Shayar Jarrett and the Andrew Scotchie Band will be playing in town and on stage.

The main event takes place at Dick Copeland Town Square on Mercer Street.
