Apple TV Plus series canceled after two seasons

Apple TV Plus competes with other major streaming services like Netflix, Max, and Disney Plus. They created their own lineup of Apple TV Plus original shows, some of which became very popular, and unfortunately, one of them was canceled.

As stated in a new report, this particular series will not be getting a third season on the platform. This news is sure to upset fans of the drama series which was successful enough to be renewed for a second season shortly after its initial airing.

TVLine claims that the series canceled by Apple TV Plus is actually part of several other cancellations made by the platform. While Apple TV Plus has chosen to renew other shows, including Godzilla vehicle Monarch: Legacy of MonstersIt seems that this particular drama was not meant to be remembered.

The Grand Prix of the Gate is the name of the series starring Chris O’Dowd, Gabrielle Dennis, Damon Gupton and Josh Segarra. It is based on the novel of the same name by MO Walsh.

For those unfamiliar, the actual plot of the series is quite interesting, and one could even draw comparisons to such strange sci-fi properties as The Twilight Zone to describe it. The story begins in the quiet town of Deerfield where a surprise device appears in a general store.

The device reveals the “life potential” of each citizen who uses it and begins to change the lives of everyone in the city as they try to achieve their dreams. It’s an interesting concept and it’s unfortunate that it was only explored for two seasons.

Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding Apple TV Plus and their originals as we receive them. For now, subscribers can check out both seasons of The Grand Prix of the Gate for themselves on the streaming service.
