Former Scottish comedian arrested for drink driving

A former Scottish comedian was today fined £300 after being caught drink-driving.

Ronnie Park, 50, was trapped on Baillieston High Street in Glasgow on March 12, 2023.

Court documents state that Park was driving a black Volkswagen T-Roc while he was impaired by alcohol or drugs.

The former Clackmannanshire council social worker had previously been arrested with eight indecent images of children.

The images of children aged between six months and 11 years were recorded on two mobile phones between 2017 and 2019.

Park sent five of the photos to friends and suggested that “dark humor” and “shock value” were behind his actions.

He was ordered to carry out 270 hours of unpaid work after pleading guilty to the charge in 2020.

The former local DJ was also placed under surveillance and placed on the sex offenders register for two years.

Park pleaded guilty today at Glasgow Crown Court to his latest charge.

No circumstances of the offence were heard by Sheriff Daniel Kelly who proceeded directly to sentencing.

Sheriff Kelly disqualified Park, of Baillieston, from driving for a year and fined him.
