MARANA, Ariz. (KGUN) — With July 4th set for tomorrow, many people are gearing up for the festivities, including the city of Marana. The July 4 celebration is the city’s largest event of the year, drawing more than 12,000 people.

The Star-Spangled Spectacular takes place at Crossroads, Silverbell District Park, located at 7548 N. Silverbell Road. The event begins at 5 p.m. and runs until 9:30 p.m., with the fireworks starting at 9 p.m.

Some of the attractions include:

  • Food Trucks
  • Sellers
  • Interpreters
  • Activities
  • Auto showroom

New this year is a 12-foot community mural that people can paint on.
“We really want to provide a quality product to our citizens, so we try to make it as free as possible,” said Bob Stinson, recreation director for the city of Marana. “We have a lot of options. We encourage people to bring coolers, their own snacks, their own food, come out and have a good time.”

Additional free parking will be available for the event at Coyote Trail Elementary School, 8000 N. Silverbell Road, and at the former emergency department on Silverbell Road. Free shuttles will be available to and from the park throughout the event.
