The Fairport Harbor Arts & Culture Alliance has announced that the second event in the fourth annual Live @ The Lighthouse concert series will take place July 13 with Reggae in the Harbor at the Lighthouse Amphitheatre.

“Reggae in the Harbor continues to grow from strength to strength each year,” said Michael Schaffert, co-president of Live @ The Lighthouse, in a press release. “Located right next to the beach and marina, this show continues to generate excitement and fits perfectly with the environment surrounding the stage.”

“With a lighthouse in the foreground and the best beach on Lake Erie to the east and unparalleled sunsets in the background, you
“I couldn’t ask for a better place.”

Reggae in the Harbor will kick off with 12 O’Clock Tribe from 1-2 p.m., followed by Lake Irie from 2:30-3:30 p.m., Rockstead from 4-5 p.m., Carlos Jones and the PLUS Band from 5:30-7:30 p.m., and conclude with Mighty Mystic from 8-10 p.m.

Land of Panda, a psych funk and reggae band from Akron, will be the “house band” performing before and after Carlos Jones, the release said.

Like Land of Panda, Akron’s 12 O’Clock Tribe will perform reggae, fusion and rock. Cleveland’s Lake Irie will perform original reggae music with new songs on the program.

Rockstead will travel from their home of Cincinnati to perform new rock and reggae sounds.

“Organizers are honored to have reggae royalty in the audience as Carlos Jones and PLUS return to the Port,” the statement said. “With his focus on spreading a positive message through his reggae music, Carlos continues to have a diverse group of new and returning fans.”

Making their debut on the waterfront scene, Mighty Mystic will come from Boston to deliver their hard roots sound with boundless energy, message-driven reggae mixed with hip hop and rock.

Food trucks for the day will include Rabbit Food, Smooth Rider, Cheese Dave’s, Off the GRIDdle, CLE Chicken, Pasta Tivo and You Enjoy My Donuts, according to the release.

The third concert will be Jam by the Sand on August 3, and the concert season will conclude on September 1 with Fairport Harbor’s Harboritaville in tribute to the legendary Jimmy Buffett.

In advance of the concerts, attendees can visit local shops, restaurants, and Lake Metroparks Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park, as all events and venues are within walking distance of the amphitheater and park. A Fairport Harbor Visitor Map is available at fhaca.org or you can pick one up at a local Fairport business.

The concerts will take place rain or shine, the release states. Check Facebook Live @ The Lighthouse or fhaca.org for event updates, as bands and times are subject to change and other announcements, including additional, smaller, more intimate concerts with just one band in the village.
