To earn my vote, stop putting each other down and show how you will reach out to each other to make America better.

I am one of those “moderate voters” that election campaigns are so eager to convince us to vote for them. On some issues, I am more conservative and on others, more progressive. I study the issues, I educate myself on the candidates, and I vote for the ones who best represent what I want for our cities, our states, and our country.

This is the crucial question on which I will base my vote: Show me in detail what you intend to do to work with, not against, the other party to pass laws and improve the lives of people in every state and across the United States. I don’t want to hear how you intend to stop what the other party is trying to do, or how evil it is.

Executives and other leaders in every business expect work to be done on time and efficiently, and expect employees to work together to achieve a positive, quality outcome. As taxpayers, we expect the same from those we elect. Compromise and collaboration have become rare when they should be the norm. Let’s stop talking down to each other and get to work.
