British rock band LiVES return with “Cancelled,” a raw, unapologetic, guitar-driven song that makes one hell of a tasty racket!

A timely reflection of the hypocrisy in the midst of a general election. The second single from the upcoming album Let Them Eat Cake, due out October 25.

Reflecting on Cancelled, singer/songwriter Peter Chisholm says: “Cancelled is about my feeling of being disenfranchised by online and political society, my total discouragement and hatred of the right AND the left… far-right attitudes and postmodernism… They pretend to be decent while being indecent, tolerant while being intolerant… always indignant, self-righteous, aggressive, violent… they swim in hypocrisy and can’t see it. Meanwhile, the real elite destroy the world around us, seemingly unnoticed while we fight amongst ourselves. I hate them all!”

The group has already been compared to the sitting position, “Somewhere between The White Stripes and QOTSA… rock stripped down to its most basic ingredients and played with absolute enthusiasm.”

LiVES were formed by Peter Chisholm, former member of cult British rock duo (with his brother Alex) The Sea, who have released 3 studio albums and played over 1000 shows and festivals (including: Glastonbury, CMJ, SXSW, Eurosonic, and supported Muse and The Kills on UK/Europe tours).

By combining their aggressive soundscape with explicit socio-political lyrics, LiVES makes music for the underprivileged, for people who don’t belong…
