LeBron James’ Mom Gloria Sends Heartfelt Message to Grandson Bronny After Signing His Rookie Deal With Lakers

In the 2024 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Lakers selected Bronny James, son of NBA icon LeBron James, with the 55th overall pick. Despite rumors of favoritism surrounding him, Bronny has proven that he deserves his spot on the team due to his rigorous training and admirable performances in defense, shooting, and passing.

The Lakers showed their strong belief in Bronny’s potential by offering him a multi-year NBA contract, with guaranteed seasons – a rare offer for a second-round draft pick. Robinka, the general manager, recognized and praised Bronny’s unwavering dedication and commitment to improving his performance.

Sitting backstage during the historic event, Bonny’s grandmother Gloria James kept a watchful eye and quietly cherished the moments. She shared photos on Instagram that captured Bronny’s journey over the years, along with a heartfelt message.

Gloria recalled Bronny’s life journey, her immense love for him since birth, and proudly said, “I have watched him grow into the wonderful young man he is today, and I am extremely proud and honored to be his grandmother.”

Expressing her pride and happiness at seeing Bronny achieve his long-time dream of playing in the NBA, Gloria’s message was full of love and passion. She was thrilled to witness her grandson’s amazing success and dreams come true after years of hard work and sacrifice.

Bronny James signs lucrative contract with Lakers

Bronny James has signed a four-year contract with the Los Lakers for an impressive $7.9 million. The deal includes an option for the team to decide on the fourth year. The contract certifies a full guarantee for the first three years, with Bronny receiving $1.1 million in the first year, $1.9 million in the second, and finally $2.3 million in the third year. The team’s option for the fourth year is worth $2.4 million.

This remarkable contract surpasses those given to players drafted at the same 55th overall in recent years. A case in point is last year’s 55th overall pick, Isaiah Wong, who signed a dual-route contract worth a maximum of $559,782.

While LeBron James’ wish to play basketball alongside his son has come true, it likely won’t be long before Gloria James realizes her dream of seeing both of her family members share an NBA court.
