Upstairs neighbor shakes ceiling; man hits stop sign outside liquor store – Greeley Tribune

EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a summary of crime reports from the Greeley Police Department’s daily logs. Only a few of the hundreds of reports will be used in this weekly column due to space constraints.

June 20

12:15 p.m.: A caller at the corner of 23rd Avenue and 20th Street reported hearing a man in a car parked next to him at a red light say, “It’s not like I’m going to kill anybody.” The caller said the man also had a gun on the dashboard of his car.

1:30 p.m.: A caller from the 2100 block of 35th Avenue reported a mother duck and her ducklings were stuck in a corner. Police arrived and an officer escorted the mother duck and her ducklings back to the park.

15:00: A caller from the 2000 block of 28th Avenue reported that their new upstairs neighbors were stomping around and “making the ceiling shake.”

3:15 p.m.: A caller at the intersection of 55th Avenue and 30th Street reported a group of four children driving a golf cart through the neighborhood and wanted to know if it was legal.

June 21st

11:45 a.m.: A caller to a liquor store in the 2400 block of 8th Avenue reported that a man had crashed his car into a stop sign.

4:30 p.m.: A caller at the intersection of 10th Avenue and 13th Street reported a man walking around with a gun in his hand. The man wasn’t pointing it at anyone, but the caller was nervous.

4:30 p.m.: A woman learned that her husband had been arrested and wanted to know what was happening.

6:45 p.m.: A caller from the 200 block of 6th Avenue North reported a rotting smell that had gotten worse over the past few days. The caller had heard a gunshot a few days earlier and thought it might be related. Police arrived on scene and traced the smell to a nearby portable toilet business.

June 22

1:30 p.m.: A caller to a supermarket in the 4500 block of CenterPlace Drive reported a group of three or four people selling puppies in front of the supermarket. The caller said they were there every weekend and he was concerned they were running a puppy mill.

2:30 p.m.: A caller from the 1300 block of 11th Avenue reported that his upstairs neighbor, with whom he shares a mailbox, had a jury summons that the neighbor had been ignoring for several days.

4:00 p.m.: A caller from the 2800 block of 27th Street Lane reported that a woman who had recently been evicted from the address had set up a tent in the backyard.

5:45 p.m.: A caller from the 1900 block of Homestead Road reported a coyote with mange on the loose in the neighborhood.

5:45 p.m.: A caller to a hotel in the 2400 block of 29th Street reported that numerous men were coming and going from a specific room. The caller was concerned that it was drugs or prostitution.

6:45 p.m.: A caller to an apartment complex in the 1100 block of 8th Avenue reported that children continued to jump the fence and use the complex’s pool.
