Mia Khalifa flooded with support as her ‘I hate myself’ post goes viral online

Mia Khalifa has poked fun at herself about the trolling she faces online.

The model and influencer took to X, formerly Twitter, to joke about her “digital footprint,” which makes it easy for people to dislike her.

The outspoken Khalifa rose to prominence as an adult film actor and is known for sharing his opinions publicly, particularly on issues such as the war between Israel and Hamas.

“Hating myself must be so much fun I post a lot of stuff, most of it is embarrassing, my digital footprint is huge and I am always doing something,” she wrote in a post that has been viewed over 300,000 times at the time of writing.

Her fans shared their thoughts on the post in the replies.

“Post. Do what you love. Don’t care about others,” wrote @raj_talegaonkar.

“I really appreciate this,” added @keshav_shashi.

And @TeslanGirolami posted: “Loving you is even more fun.”

In June, Khalifa sparked a heated debate on social media when she said she “doesn’t support all women.”

“I don’t support all women!!!!!” Khalifa wrote on X. “Some of these bitches serve in the Israeli army, and I’d rather have my kind of body count than dead children.”

Khalifa was referring to those serving in the Israeli Defense Forces in the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Israel launched a military campaign in Gaza after the Palestinian group Hamas attacked southern Israel on October 7, 2023. Much of Gaza has since been razed by Israeli forces, and many of its 2.3 million residents have been displaced.

According to the Associated Press, citing Gaza health officials, more than 38,000 Palestinians have been killed since the start of Israel’s invasion of Gaza. Israeli officials say about 1,200 people were killed in the Oct. 7 Hamas attack, in which about 250 people were taken hostage.

Khalifa’s outspoken views on the war between Israel and Hamas cost her brand deals and social media followers. Shortly after October 7, Playboy quickly cut ties with her, and she was also publicly fired from her job as an advisor to Red Light Holland, a magic truffle producer.

Between April and May, Khalifa lost 105,000 followers on Instagram and more than 25,000 followers on X, as celebrities are constantly called upon to speak out on the conflict, whether in support of the Palestinians or Israel.

High-profile figures including Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift were named in a campaign known as “Blockout 2024” and the “digital guillotine,” where people were encouraged to block major celebrities to ensure they lost followers in response to their perceived lack of action on the conflict.
