Sugar Drop Announces Closure – Williamson Source

Sugar Drop, a colorful cake, party supply and candy store in Franklin, has announced it is closing.

The company, which is more than 50 years old, started in Brentwood. Brooke O’Dell bought the company seven years ago and moved it to Franklin in 2020.

In announcing the closure on social media, Sugar Drop said, “Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives for the past 7 years. When we purchased this fifty-year-old business, we had no idea how many chapters would unfold within the walls of our original location and current home. My goal has always been to create a space filled with childlike wonder and inspiration, from the sights and sounds to the smells and experiences. The sounds of screams and laughter that hundreds of you have made as you enter my doors have reassured us that we all need to feel like kids in a candy store.”

“You have shared your families with me, your tables with me, your celebrations and your heartbreaks. You have walked with my family as my sons have grown into men and gone from frontline workers to back-of-house workers. You have laughed with us, cried with us, prayed with us and supported us through so many seasons and my heart is forever full,” he added.

The last day of operation will be Saturday, July 20th. Sugar Drop is located at 574 Franklin Road, Franklin. Hours of operation are Monday through Wednesday, 10am to 5pm, Thursday through Friday, 10am to 7pm, and Saturday, 8am to 7pm. For the latest updates, visit their social media here.
