  • Collins Kaye had to resist the urge to accept the money, as well as a night’s hotel stay.
  • She explained that it was the last day of her paid leave.
  • Hundreds of people commented admitting they would have jumped at the chance.

A young woman was left devastated after she was unable to accept the exorbitant sum of $1,500 to give up her seat on a crowded flight when she was due to go to work the next morning.

Collins Kaye, who is in the US Army, checked in to sit down for take-off as a flight attendant announced that the airline would offer the hefty sum to anyone willing to get off the plane and take a flight the following morning instead.

“Who’s going to take it? $1,500,” the flight attendant could be heard asking passengers, before someone apparently agreed seconds later.

Meanwhile, Collins admitted via text overlay on the post: “I hate that my leave ends today because I wanted to give up this seat for that $1,500.

Collins Kaye, who is in the U.S. Army, had to turn down the offer of $1,500 cash – plus a night in a hotel and a flight out the next morning – because his annual leave was coming to an end.
In a video recorded by Collins, the stewardess could be heard asking passengers: “Who’s going to take it? $1,500” – before someone apparently claimed the offer seconds later (archive footage)

In the caption she asked, “Would you come down?”

Collins also said the airline was offering not only $1,500 in cash, but also a night in a hotel and a flight the next morning leaving at 9:30 a.m.

Typically, members of the military are entitled to 30 days of paid leave per year.

Hundreds of people commented, swearing that they would have been the first to volunteer to take the flight the next morning in exchange for money and a night in a hotel.

“You’re better than me. I would have already been to the hotel to check into my room,” one wrote.

“I would have yelled BINGO, stood up and started walking forward,” insisted a second.

“I would have been out the door before she even finished saying a hundred,” said a third.

“Yeah, my flight was delayed,” a fourth suggested as a white lie to get him to accept the offer.

Hundreds of people commented swearing they would never pass up the opportunity to win $15,000.

“I would have called them and extended my leave FAST,” said a fifth, to which Collins replied: “Oh my god I should have, I feel so bad now.”

“I jump over the seats,” fantasizes a sixth.

“I would have given up on that plan so fast,” agreed a seventh, with Collins chiming in: “Girl, I wanted it so bad frfr.”

Collins’ story is far from the only recent viral drama surrounding airplane seats.

As reported by DailyMail.com, a woman recently took to Reddit to ask what she should have done after finding another woman sitting in her assigned seat.
