New camera angle ends controversy over Suryakumar Yadav’s capture

A new camera angle on Suryakumar Yadav’s spectacular catch in the 2024 T20 World Cup final against South Africa has put to rest all allegations of it being an ‘unfair catch’. Suryakumar in particular showed great presence of mind as he held on to a stunning catch at long-on to turn the tables in India’s favour in the final over of the thrilling final.

With 16 runs left to chase for victory on the last six balls, South Africa’s David Miller pulled a full toss from Hardik Pandya through the air towards long-on. As a result, Miller had to return to the pavilion after scoring 21 (17) when his team still needed 16 to win off the last five balls.

After dismissing Miller, Pandya kept his cool and successfully defended 15 runs to help India win their second T20 World Cup by seven runs.
