July 4th Parade Cancelled

The July 4 parade and the 9 a.m. performance by the Bloomington Community Band are canceled, according to a statement. City of Bloomington press release thursdayThe July 4 parade was scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in downtown Bloomington, but was canceled due to extreme weather.

“We share our community’s disappointment, but the safety of parade participants, spectators and our staff is our top priority,” Julie Ramey, community relations manager, said in an emailed statement.

There is no indication that it will be rescheduled.

There will still be places to see the fireworks in town. Fourwinds Lakeside Inn & Marina will host a fireworks show at 6 p.m. and said in a Facebook job The event will take place rain or shine.

The fireworks at Lemon Lake has a postponement date of July 7 in case of rain.
