Bayern Munich and Germany star Leroy Sané ready for aggressive football from Spain

Bayern Munich and German national team star Leroy Sané can take a look at Spain’s roster and understand why they have been so successful in the EURO 2024 tournament.

“Spain are very strong, they play aggressive football and defend hard. In Lamine Yamal, they have a player who makes me wonder: ‘How is this possible at this age?’ – It’s remarkable. I really enjoy watching him. I hope he continues like this. In Rodri, they also have a man in midfield who I would compare to Toni Kroos – he is the link between defence and attack. Rodri sets the pace,” Sané told Sport Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).

Sane, who is battling for a starting place with Florian Wirtz, was not particularly impressed with his performance against Denmark.

“I would say it was good. It was very important for me to take the time to play and find my rhythm. I know I can play much better, but the game helped me a lot. I am at an age where I can and want to take responsibility for the team. I am happier with my teammates’ goals than my own. I often raise my arms to celebrate before the ball reaches the goal,” Sané said with a laugh.

Like many others, Sané was impressed by Jamal Musiala’s performances at the EURO.

“Jamal is a great guy, we get along very well. He should continue to score goals. I hope he will be the top scorer. He deserves to do even better in front of goal. Jamal is working very hard for that,” Sané said. “He clearly has the qualities to (win the Ballon d’Or). If Jamal continues like this, he has a good chance of winning the Ballon d’Or soon. I wish him that award too.”
