Joselu sends violent message to his former Real Madrid teammate over Euro 2024 clash

Joselu boldly revealed his intention to ‘retire’ his former Real Madrid team-mate Toni Kroos on Friday night during the highly anticipated Euro 2024 quarter-final between Spain and Germany.

Kroos has already turned the page on club football – his last game came in the Champions League with Real Madrid last month – and will hang up his boots for good after this tournament. Now that the round of 16 is here, the modern-day icon is potentially just 90 minutes away.

“We hope this is his last game,” Joselu said as he prepared for the match. “It’s not a special game because he’s here, it’s a quarterfinal against a great team.”

“We hope to retire Toni on Friday. He is a friend of mine. I have spoken to him a lot and he has given me a lot of advice. He is fundamental for Germany and he was fundamental for Real Madrid. We have to be careful with him on Friday.”

“It is very important for us to win, to qualify (for the semi-finals). Regarding Toni, we have to believe in ourselves. We don’t care about the players of the other team. I think Friday will be Toni’s last match.”

Joselu played alongside Kroos last season as Los Blancos won La Liga and the Champions League.

The Spaniard will be aiming to add more trophies to his haul with Al Gharafa in Qatar next season after opting against a permanent move to the Bernabeu despite Madrid’s desire to make it happen.

The team that wins between Germany or Spain will face France or Portugal in the Euro semi-finals.
