Joe Biden describes himself as a black woman in his latest gaffe

President Joe Biden stumbled over his words in an awkward moment during a radio interview where he appeared to describe himself as a Black woman.

US President Joe Biden’s “overall performance” in the first debate against Donald Trump was “pretty terrible”, Sky News Australia presenter Chris Kenny has said. President Biden has come under intense scrutiny following the first debate against Donald Trump. Mr Kenny played a clip of one of Biden’s responses in the debate, saying it was “just terrible”.

Biden’s every move is now under scrutiny after the president’s disastrous performance in his debate with Donald Trump last week, moderated by CNN.

During the debate, Biden appeared tired, spoke with a hoarse voice and struggled to produce coherent sentences in an evening that led many to call for the 81-year-old to withdraw from the race.

On Thursday, Biden joined Philadelphia radio station WURD, where he appeared to bizarrely conflate himself with Vice President Kamala Harris as well as his tenure as former U.S. leader Barack Obama’s vice president.

“By the way, I’m proud to be, as I said, the first vice president, the first black woman… to serve with a black president. Proud to be the first black woman on the Supreme Court. There’s so much we can do because, look… we are the United States of America,” he said.

Although Biden clearly mixed up his words, he was referring to Ketanji Brown-Jackson, who became the first black female justice when he nominated her.

The mistake came after he accidentally referred to his presidential rival Donald Trump as “one of our colleagues” during his speech to military families on the White House lawn on Thursday.

The White House has staunchly defended the first octogenarian president, with spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre having to come to his defense on several occasions.

“He’s as sharp as I’ve ever known him to be in my dealings with him, in my experience with him,” she told reporters Wednesday.

“And I know that when I walk into the Oval Office or see him on Air Force One, I have to be at the top of my game.”

According to commentator Brad Polumbo, some media outlets “hate Trump” so much that they are willing to “blatantly lie” to defend Joe Biden. President Biden has faced intense scrutiny over his performance after the first debate against Donald Trump. “What strikes me as crazy is trying to use that campaign event he had the next day as if to say, ‘Well, he did a good job then,’” Polumbo said. “He read off a teleprompter in a short speech at a campaign event, but he couldn’t go through a 90-minute debate with two breaks … without completely losing his mind and admitting he almost fell asleep during it.”

Biden himself has admitted that he wasn’t in his best shape on debate night, revealing earlier this week that he “almost fell asleep” during the major event.

He also acknowledged that his performance was below average when he spoke about it on a local radio show.

“I had a bad night,” Biden told Earl Ingram, host of WAUK station in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

“The fact is, I made a mistake. I learned from my father that when you fall, you have to get back up.

“I didn’t have a good debate. It’s 90 minutes on stage. Look what I’ve done in 3.5 years.”
