Alethea Ambrosio dons Sampaguita-inspired national costume for Miss Supranational 2024 • PhilSTAR Life

Alethea Ambrosio is a queen blooming in her national costume for the Miss Supranational 2024 competition.

During the segment, the Bulacan beauty walked the catwalk in a Sampaguita inspired dress created by Filipino designer Ehrran Montoya.

Called “Halimuyak,” the dress is described by Montoya as a “vibrant fusion of tradition and contemporary style, inspired by the elegance of the Sampaguita, the national flower of the Philippines.”

It comprises intricate beads and textures in shades of white, reminiscent of the delicate petals of the Sampaguita to capture “the purity and grace of the Filipina.”

Along with this, it is also adorned with intricate patterns and floral motifs to represent “the essence of Filipino culture and tradition while embracing the spirit of innovation and modernity.”

Montoya stressed that the costume is dedicated to the rich flora of the Philippines and incorporates elements that “evoke the beauty of its tropical landscapes.”

Ambrosio’s look is completed with a matching headdress, sumptuous earrings and a sampaguita crown.

Previously, the beauty queen threaded a fringed dress inspired by a warrior in golden armor designed by Larry Espinosa during the preliminary evaluation, evoking the image of a “dignified and elegant Amazonian queen.”

Althea is making waves at Miss Supranational 2024. Not only is she currently ranked in the Top 10 alongside delegates from Colombia, Curacao, Denmark, Guatemala, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Nigeria and Vietnam, but she is also a semi-finalist for the Miss Supranational Supramodel of the Year and Miss Influencer Opportunity challenges.
