Montblanc launches a collection of writing instruments inspired by the Olympic Games

Launched to mark the centenary of its iconic Meisterstück fountain pen, Montblanc’s new collection also pays tribute to the 100th anniversaries of the 1924 Paris Olympic Games and the 1924 Chamonix Winter Olympic Games.

The new writing instruments are part of the IOC’s Olympic Heritage Collection, which offers products featuring art and design elements from previous editions of the Games, connecting fans and collectors to the rich legacy of past Olympic Games.

The Meisterstück x Olympic Heritage Paris 1924 special edition features the official red color of the Paris 1924 Olympic Games and a handcrafted solid gold nib adorned with a javelin thrower, in reference to a vintage Olympic poster from the same Games.

The rest of the design is also rich in Olympic iconography, including the Olympic rings and the Olympic heritage logo, flanked by laurel wreaths, while the cap is engraved with the words “Jeux Olympiques Paris 1924” within a frame inspired by the cover of the official report of the Games.

The collection is completed by the Meisterstück x Olympic Heritage Chamonix 1924 special editions, which commemorate the first edition of the Winter Olympic Games, which took place with Mont Blanc as a backdrop in Chamonix, France, the same year the first Meisterstück was presented to customers.

The caps of all editions are engraved with the words “Olympic Winter Games Chamonix 1924”, while a ski jumper on the handcrafted solid gold nib is inspired by the graphic works created for Chamonix 1924. The top ring of the cap is adorned with the Olympic Heritage emblem and the Olympic rings, while the Montblanc emblem on the top of the cap is set in precious coral-coloured resin.

The Montblanc Meisterstück x Olympic Heritage Paris 1924 and Chamonix 1924 special editions are all available as fountain pen, ballpoint pen or rollerball pen.

Expanded Olympic licensing opportunities

The licensing agreement between the IOC and Montblanc is the result of the IOC’s global licensing strategy, an initiative driven by Olympic Agenda 2020+5 that aims to engage and connect fans through official products that reinforce and promote the Olympic brand, not only during the Olympic Games, but also between editions of the Games.

In addition to the Olympic Heritage Collection, the IOC’s core licensing programmes also include the Olympic Collection, which aims to engage a young and active audience through unique branded products including apparel, toys and games, bags, stationery and sports equipment, as well as the Olympic and Paralympic Games Collections, which celebrate each upcoming edition of the Games and include a wide range of accessories, souvenirs, fan gear and apparel.

Through the sale of official products, collectibles and souvenirs, Olympic licensing programs provide fans with a tangible connection to the Olympic Games and Olympic values.

All Olympic merchandising items are available for purchase in the Olympic Shop (shop.olympics.com).
