K-Pop Fans Are In Absolute Disbelief Over Baseball Fan Culture’s Shocking

This is unthinkable in K-Pop fandoms.

With so many different fan cultures, it’s always interesting to learn about the differences! An online post recently caught the attention of fans who were shocked by the difference between baseball fan culture and K-pop fan culture.

A X One user revealed that his friend who knew nothing about baseball asked him how many uniforms he had to buy to get a player’s autograph. However, the quote retweeted below by someone who seemed to be a K-pop fan got the most unexpected response!

“X user 1: Can you get an autograph even if you only buy one uniform? What’s the system here? Is it like a fan signing event?

X User 2: You can catch them as they exit and ask them to sign.

X user 1: What? Really???”

Another baseball fan shared text messages between him and his friend who was a music fan and couldn’t believe the questions he was being asked.

“Friend: Can I enter the game late? At your designated spot?”

OP: You can enter the game even 30 seconds before the end of the match…

Friend: It’s incredible…

OP: You may eat, including water, at your seat. If you wish, you may stand and sing all the songs.

“Friend: Can you go to the bathroom in the middle of the game? Is it possible to return to the game even after leaving it in the middle of the game?

OP: Are you crazy? As long as the game is still running, you can come back to it even if you leave it to go home and come back. Going to the bathroom is of course possible.

Friend: So generous…”

This came as a shock to K-Pop fans, as K-Pop events are known for having very strict guidelines for concerts and events.

You could see people playing video games…

…and eat full meals during baseball games.

In K-Pop, taking photos or asking for autographs from idols in public can be considered an invasion of privacy and is frowned upon unless at an official event.

At this, baseball fans shared various encounters with baseball players Kim Sang-Soowho is known for handing out autographs left and right.

  • “A group of kids recognized him from across the street as it was raining. He let the taxi he was about to get into go, told the kids to stay where they were, and walked across the promenade to sign autographs for them.”
  • “Kim Sang Soo said he would give me his autograph, but I told him I already had it and asked him to sign for someone else. He was so sad about it.

Just by looking at this, we can see how different each fandom culture can be. What do you think?
