A friend of missing Briton Jay Slater has broken his silence by posting a new photo of the teenager on social media.

Lucy Mae Law posted a selfie of herself and Jay, 19, with a crying emoji and a blue heart. Lucy, 18, had been silent on social media for weeks, but she returned with a cryptic message on Instagram.

Lucy was the last person to speak to Jay on the morning of June 17, when he called her before his phone died in a mountainous and hostile area of ​​Teno Rural Park, Tenerife.

The apprentice bricklayer, from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, phoned Lucy to say he was “lost in the middle of nowhere”.

It was Lucy Mae who started the controversial GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign to help with Jay’s search. At the time of writing, the campaign is close to £50,000 in donations, and people are still contributing.
