For future British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Larry the cat’s important commercial message

Larry the Cat, head mouse at 10 Downing Street, wasted no time in clarifying the “important business” of his mealtimes shortly after Keir Starmer was elected as Britain’s next prime minister on July 5. Starmer’s Labour Party won a landslide majority in the UK parliamentary election while Rishi Sunak conceded defeat.

In congratulating Starmer on his message, Larry also shared his meal preferences. And snacks, of course.

“Congratulations on your well-deserved win. Now, let’s get to the nitty-gritty of my meal times: I like to eat breakfast at 10am, lunch at 11am, dinner at 3pm, then 5pm and 7pm. With plenty of snacks in between,” read a message posted from Larry the Cat’s account on X.

This sentence pretty much summed up Larry’s feeling: “If you do this right, the rest of your job will be a breeze.”

Larry the cat has over 8 lakh followers on X and his bio reads: “Chief Mouser in the Cabinet Office. 16 year old tabby cat. Living with my fifth (soon to be sixth) Prime Minister. Unofficial.”

British Labour Party leader Keir Starmer is a former human rights lawyer and prosecutor who will have to focus his relentless work ethic and methodical mind on repairing the country.

Keir Starmer, 61, will be the oldest person to become British prime minister in almost half a century – and comes just nine years after he was first elected to parliament.
