Football fans around the world are not looking forward to the clash between Spain and Germany in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024.

Both teams are battling for a place in the semi-finals, but they are set to face off in what Pipo describes as a “blockbuster” on Friday night.

For some, this is the real test for both teams, as Germany failed to progress from the group stage to the knockout stages without a goal.

The hosts beat Scotland 5-1 in their opening game before winning 2-0 against Hungary and then drawing 1-1 with Switzerland.

Germany have now beaten Denmark 2-0 to reach the last 16.

Spain are the only team to have a perfect record in the group stage.

The Dems beat Croatia 3-0 in their first group game, before beating defending champions Italy 1-0, and the final game against Albania ended 1-0.

In this round of 16 match, Spain beat Georgia 4-1.

La Roja now faces the biggest test of the competition: Germany is considered the favourite by many analysts.

Both teams have young players who have shone so far, and their coaches have also received numerous accolades, affirming that they are capable of managing a team that allows them to achieve results.

Additionally, both teams have won three European titles each – and for this tournament, they have had the most attempts on target, which has earned them the lead in terms of ‘passing accuracy’.

Between them they have conceded just three goals so far, but both coaches said this match meant they had a chance to win the tournament.

Luis De La Fuente said: “We are very ambitious and we want to continue to achieve this and reach our goals.”

“We say we are going to meet a football power, but we believe in our servitude.”

De La Fuente added: “With all due respect to all the teams, we have the best team and the best players – but does he mean we’re going to win? No. We have to fight for it.”

For German coach Julian Nagglesman, the team must be prepared for the challenge.

“We had a lot of quality with a lot of approaches to combat a team that likes to have the ball. Spain will have to adapt because we also like to keep the ball,” Nagglesman said in the pre-match press conference.

I add that “Spain tries to press very high when they lose the ball but they also take risks in order to find solutions to these kinds of situations.”

Germany captain Ilkay Gundogan believes it will be a close match.

“Both teams are playing the best football in the tournament. Las las e will come down to who can handle situations without the ball, they better not panic.

Gundogan will face his former club teammate Rodri (Manchester City) and his Barcelona teammates Lamin Yamal, Pedri and Ferran Torres in this match.

Rodri knows that Germany will be strong at home, but me and my team are not afraid of anything.

“We have our own weapons to play a fantastic match, if we want to progress. We will give everything to win this match,” said the Manchester City midfielder.

What do we call this photo? The Germans have scored the most goals (10) so far in the tournament

Spain-Germany Team News

La Roja have almost their entire squad available for this match – Luis De La Fuente rested ten of his players for the final group game against Albania.

Lamin Yamal and Nico Williams are expected to start the game with Rodri in midfield.

Germany have Jonathan Tah back after missing the 2-0 win over Denmark through suspension.

Toni Kroos will continue to play in midfield, while Nagglesman will decide whether Leroy Sane or Florian Writz starts.

For Spain, Carvajal, Le Normand, Morata and Vivian will miss the next match if they receive a yellow card for this game, as they will qualify for the semi-finals.

Andrich, Rudiger and Mittelstadt will also miss Germany’s next match if they receive a yellow card for the game which will see them through to the semi-finals.

Players to watch

Spain have found a wealth of talent in Nico Williams and Lamin Yamal on the wings.

The two young players together scored one goal and provided three assists during the tournament.

Williams can also achieve 100% passing accuracy by scoring and assisting in the same match for the tournament.

I also had 7 goal attempts.

Germany must be careful with their speed and wing tricks.

The same goes for Yamin Yamal, 16, who made 11 attempts with a 79.75% success rate.

Rodri will face Toni Kroos in midfield.

Kroos plays all 4 games for Germany and gets 95.75% passing accuracy.

My counterpart – Rodri bin played 3 matches with one goal and 93.34% passing accuracy.

The German poster is called Jamal Musiala.

The 21-year-old Bayern Munich midfielder leads the top scorers charts with 3 goals in 4 games and a 92% passing accuracy.

I am Nagglesman, my weapon so far for this tournament and I hope Musiala has a good game against Spain.
