Like Magic and Häfele partner on the Work and Sleep hotel room concept

Employee and guest experience platform Like Magic has partnered with hardware, electronic locking and lighting solutions provider Häfele for a multifunctional hotel room concept called “Work and Sleep.”

Hotel operators will be able to adapt guest rooms into offices, meeting rooms and other functional spaces using digital furniture, layout solutions and advanced software.

The collaboration aims to introduce new revenue models by activating rooms that would otherwise remain vacant, while reducing fit-out costs.

The “Work and Sleep” rooms allow for seamless reconfiguration of the room at no extra cost. The electronic lock ensures that only overnight guests can access the built-in bed, while the meeting tables are only accessible to day guests who have booked this service.

Other features include lighting technology that automatically adapts to the intended use of the room, creating a relaxed atmosphere for overnight hotel guests and brighter, flicker-free lighting during the day for video conferencing.

Customers can also use the Like Magic web app to independently access additional amenities. They can unlock a coffee machine cabinet with Häfele electronic locks and access upgrades such as additional storage space, sports equipment and garment steamers with a smartphone key powered by Like Magic.
