Choreographer-turned-filmmaker Farah Khan recently shared an interesting story about a producer who once offered her Rs 10 crore to cast his son in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Happy New Year.’ Farah said she turned down the offer and chose to cast Vivaan Shah, the son of Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah, in the role instead.

Farah shared this in a recent chat with comedian and writer Zakir Khan while having lunch together at her home. In a recent daily vlog video shared by Farah on her Instagram account, she said, “You won’t believe it, but during ‘Happy New Year,’ a producer offered me Rs 10 crore to cast his son. Being a ‘Jhansi Ki Rani,’ I said, ‘I will never do this.’ I won’t do injustice to the film. What if Shah Rukh gets to know that I took Rs 10 crore to cast him in the film? Never, I won’t do that. I took Vivaan Shah in the film because I thought I would take the person who fits perfectly in the character and the film.”

The 2014 film ‘Happy New Year’ was Farah Khan’s fourth and her last directorial venture. It was her third collaboration with Shah Rukh. It was produced by SRK’s wife, Gauri Khan. The film also features Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani, and Jackie Shroff in key roles. The film reportedly earned Rs 408 crore at the box office.
