You can enjoy a canoeing adventure on the 2.5 km long lake and feast your eyes on the breathtaking scenery the area has to offer.

It is important to note that Silent Lake is truly silent, as no motor boats or electric motors are allowed there. Talk about peace and quiet.

If you’re more of a land explorer, there are three trails to explore: the Lakehead Loop Trail, the shortest at 1.5 km; the Bonnie’s Pond Trail, at 3 km; and the Lakeshore Hiking Trail, at 15 km, which is designed for a more experienced hiker as it will take you six hours round trip to complete.

Although the majority of the viewpoints are located along the Lakeshore Hiking Trail, walk along the Bonnie’s Pond Trail until it meets the viewpoint on the longer trail.

As for biking, the trail offers two loops of 11 km and 17 km in length. “Caution is advised as the trail crosses the park road and is a shared path in some areas. Trails may be closed in the spring or during wet weather,” Ontario Parks said.

Visitors can cool off on its sandy beaches. The larger beach is located in the day use area and includes a large grassy area for a picnic and the other beach is located in the Pincer Bay Campground.

Now what are you waiting for? Start planning your summer getaway and set your sights on Silent Lake!
