Mother Accused of Killing 5-Year-Old Son Must Stop Filing Frivolous Legal Motions

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A judge has ordered Dejaune Anderson to stop filing conspiracy-filled motions attacking her public defender, the Washington County Court and others, warning she could be held in contempt of court for not following the order.

Anderson, accused of killing her five-year-old son, Cairo Jordan, and dumping his body in a suitcase in the woods, has filed more than a dozen motions since her arrest earlier this year.

Judge Larry Medlock said Anderson appears to be trying to distract and delay his criminal case.

Anderson filed motions to dismiss the case against her, falsely claimed that her public defender was President Joe Biden’s grandson and refused to cooperate with a second psychiatric evaluation.

Medlock’s order states that all of Anderson’s current records will be ignored.

He also asked her to file a new application to represent herself, in accordance with Indiana’s standard practice.

He also ordered Anderson to stop referring to himself by any other name, to use his legal date of birth and to stop filing motions that reference any sort of conspiracy theory.

Her erratic statements and behavior led Medlock to order her to undergo a competency examination to see if she could represent herself and stand trial.

His order also states that he will not rule on her new request to represent herself until she completes the second psychological examination that she has so far refused.

He also warned that if she filed anything that did not comply with this order, it would simply be removed from the record.

Medlock’s order follows a similar order dismissing a lawsuit filed by Anderson against the Washington County clerk.

The judge in that case dismissed the complaint and also struck out all documents Anderson filed in the case.

A pretrial conference, which is likely to discuss his psychiatric evaluations, is scheduled for next week.

His trial is scheduled for next month.
