Governor Newsom Announces Deployment of Incident Support Team to Texas Due to Tropical Storm Beryl

The Incident Support Team provides a group of highly trained specialists to provide local officials with technical assistance, management and coordination of US&R resources.

“While wildfire and extreme heat operations are underway across the state, California stands ready to answer our fellow Americans’ call for assistance should the need arise,” said Nancy Ward, director of Cal OES.

The specialized team members deployed to Texas come from US&R operating forces in California, including local fire and rescue personnel from the Menlo Park and Riverside fire departments.

This deployment builds on California’s ongoing efforts to assist other states in emergencies.
