FarmFest will return to Lake Metroparks Farmpark from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 13 in Kirtland.

This year’s festival will celebrate Farmpark’s 34th anniversary as a family farm and educational center dedicated to fostering a better understanding of our agricultural roots, according to a news release.

FarmFest, which is free for all ages, is a special opportunity for families to enjoy the Farmpark and its most popular activities and attractions for free, including animal encounters, wagon rides and other fun farm activities, the release said. Educational programs ranging from cheese-making demonstrations to farm-to-table culinary tastings will be offered throughout the event.

Pony rides for $6 will also be offered, weather permitting.

“Free admission to this event is a great opportunity to experience Farmpark and explore our agricultural-themed programs while enjoying live music,” Andy McGovern, Lake Metroparks Farmpark events manager, said in the release. “Food trucks will be on site serving a variety of favorites and guests will also be able to purchase beer from a local brewery and wine from a local vineyard.”

“Visitors of all ages can spend time with our farm animals and take a wagon ride through the park.”

The event also features craft vendors, horse shows and more. For more information about the event and a full schedule of offerings, visit goto.lakemetroparks.com/farmfest.
