Man convicted in fatal arcade shooting now on trial for beating inmate to death

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – An Oahu jury on Friday found a 29-year-old man guilty of second-degree murder, robbery and firearms charges in a 2020 shooting at an amusement arcade.

Aaron Tuitelapaga will be sentenced on October 16.

The 2020 shooting in the Ala Moana area left Sausau Togiai III dead.

“Togiai was working as a security guard at the game room that night. He was fatally shot while attempting to stop the robbery,” Assistant District Attorney Scott Bell said in a news release.

Meanwhile, Tuitelapaga is scheduled to stand trial in a separate case later this year for allegedly beating 36-year-old Christopher Vaefaga to death at the OCCC in July 2023.
