Jay Slater’s best friend Lucy Mae Law has broken her silence by sharing a new photo of the couple.

Jay, 19, went missing on June 17 in Tenerife, where he had been attending a three-day music festival with his friends.

Posting on Instagram for the first time in weeks, Lucy posted a photo of herself with Jay with a sad, crying emoji and a blue heart.

Lucy is believed to have been the last person to speak to her friend before he disappeared.

She also helped create a GoFundMe for Jay’s family, who are still in Tenerife searching for their son.

It comes after a 31-year-old Briton who was with Jay in an Airbnb before he disappeared insisted he “left the house alive”.

Ayub Qassim was with Jay just before he disappeared, having invited the teenager back to his Airbnb.

He insisted Jay left the vacation rental alive, adding that he “didn’t even do anything.”

“The only comment I have is that Jay arrived home alive and he came out of the house alive,” he told MailOnline.

“I let the guy stay at my house because he had nowhere else to go, his friends had all left him.” I know Jay, through friends, I’m not going to bring someone home if I don’t know them.

“I do this guy a favor and now my face is all over the papers. It’s kind of crazy. I didn’t even do anything.”

The 31-year-old is said to have returned home to his family home in London.

He said he didn’t have an argument with Jay and even gave him a blanket to sleep on.

He continued: “If I had argued with him, would he come to my house?

“There was no problem. You saw the last pictures of him with his red blanket around him. I don’t know if he had problems elsewhere because I don’t know him very well, I only know him through friends.”

The news comes after Jay’s father Warren Slater revealed he was “baffled” by the disappearance. “Why would two grown men take a young boy to a valley, to a bed and breakfast?” he told The Sun.

He said: “You don’t just disappear like that. It’s just ridiculous that someone can just disappear like that.”

“He’s a young boy, he’s fit. He’s fitter than all of us put together. He’s played football his whole life, he’s in great shape. You don’t just disappear. I don’t know… it’s just a mystery… it’s disconcerting.”
