Google Play Points for Google Store Credit

TL;DR

  • As part of Pokémon GO Fest 2024, game points can be exchanged for physical items such as lapel pins, tote bags, and baseball caps.
  • The promotion allows Pokémon GO players to earn five times more points than usual on purchases made over the weekend.
  • Availability of these physical items is certainly limited, and you shouldn’t expect this offer to last long.

Who doesn’t love getting something for free? Rewards programs that offer perks on things you were planning on buying anyway feel like free money, and in 2019, Google launched its own program for Android apps in the form of Play Points. The more you spend on apps and in-app purchases (IAPs), the more Play Points you’ll receive. If you’ve been racking up a stack of points and are looking for something to do with them, a new opportunity to spend points on physical products has just arrived.

If swag isn’t your style, the GO Fest 2024 promotion also lets you redeem points for special in-game encounters, and even includes the chance to earn five times the normal game points on IAPs completed through Sunday.

Google clearly hasn’t forgotten about Play Points, and every now and then we still get new promotions like this one, but physical products you can redeem points for are few and far between – the vast majority of redemption options are for in-app content, whether they’re digital purchases themselves or just coupons to save on them.

In the past, we’ve seen deals like the chance to get Google Store credit that you could use toward a new Pixel phone, for example. Last summer, we got some great deals like discounts on food delivery services and even fun Google items like Chrome dinosaur socks , but those deals never seem to last. In fact, this deal won’t last either, and Google is clear that these Pokémon items are good while supplies last; best case scenario, you’ll have until the end of the month to order one. Might as well try to catch one now!
