U.S. citizens and nationals are strongly encouraged to register with the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) at https://step.state.gov

The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is a free service that allows U.S. citizens and nationals traveling and living abroad to register their travel with the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

The U.S. Embassy in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean advises U.S. citizens that the U.S. National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane warning for Barbados, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, and Tobago. A tropical storm warning has been issued for Martinique. A tropical storm watch is in effect for Dominica.

On June 30, 2024 at 11:00 AST (1500 UTC), the eye of Hurricane Beryl was located near latitude 10.7 North and longitude 54.9 West. Beryl is moving westward at a speed of about 33 km/h. Rapid and continued westward and west-northwestward movement is expected over the next several days.

Beryl’s center is forecast to move across the Windward Islands Monday morning and across the southeastern and central Caribbean Sea Monday through Wednesday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 120 mph (195 km/h) with higher gusts. Beryl is a Category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Further strengthening is expected by tonight, and Beryl is expected to become an extremely dangerous Category 4 hurricane before reaching the Windward Islands.

Hurricane-force winds extend up to 28 miles (45 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend up to 115 miles (185 km).
