Minister disappointed by cancellation of proposed public meeting on Portumna power station – Connacht Tribune

Disability Minister and Fianna Fáil MLA for Galway East Anne Rabbitte said she was disappointed to learn of the company’s cancellation of a public engagement project behind the Portumna power station.

Following a number of public meetings held in the community on plans to develop the Oldstreet Power Station in the Coolpowra to Gortanumera area, Minister Rabbitte has been confirmed that an event for the public to meet the company and discuss the project will take place, with the meeting taking place next Monday.

However, the minister was informed last night that the event was cancelled.

Speaking to Galway Bay FM News this morning, Minister Rabbitte said a project of this magnitude requires commitment.
