Wait, Could iCarly Continue After Its Cancellation? Miranda Cosgrove Shares Update

Paramount+ may be one of the best streaming services out there, but that doesn’t mean it’s flawless, especially when it comes to premature cancellations. Late last year, for example, the streamer surprisingly canceled the iCarly However, there has always been hope that the series will continue in some way after the cliffhanger of the season 3 finale. Now, Miranda Cosgrove has an update that will surely make fans happy.

The Season 3 Finale of iCarly The series ended with the return of Carly and Spencer’s mother, but without revealing who she is, which left fans waiting for a truly terrible resolution. Cosgrove has previously expressed her hopes for a closing film that would provide closure for both the cast and longtime fans, and she recently said Variety that she has a good feeling about it, saying:

I’m pretty sure it’s going to happen. So, I’m excited and I wish I could wrap up the story.

Few shows that are canceled without ending on their own terms get a chance to wrap it all up, and it’s very likely that iCarly I’ll get the chance to do it, that’s pretty awesome. Although nothing is confirmed, it seems like it’s about to happen.

Additionally, besides finding out who the main character’s mother is, there are plenty of stories that need to be wrapped up, including Carly and Freddie’s long-awaited relationship.

As for what could happen in the movie, the possibilities are endless. To me, the most logical way to tell the story is that it takes place immediately after the events of the season 3 finale, at the wedding of Lewbert the doorman and Marissa, Freddie’s mother, to which Carly and Spencer’s mother showed up. She was never mentioned in the original series, and it was always assumed that she died when in reality, she simply ran away.

It would be nice to see not only what she looks like (and who she’s played by), but also what really drove her to leave her husband and children.

If a final film is finally made, it may still be a long wait. Fans of the original iCarly I’ve been waiting almost 10 years for a new series, and if waiting a little longer for a final movie means that it’s going to happen, the wait will surely be worth it. Now, what really needs to happen is that we need to see this project get the green light. However, since Miranda Cosgrove seems confident that it will work, it seems that it’s going to happen.

In the meantime, Paramount+ subscribers can watch both iCarly and I’ll probably be even more eager to know more after watching the season 3 finale of the revival. I hope a movie does happen, but for now, it’ll just be a waiting game.
