Rehoboth Beach man faces weapons, drug charges following traffic stop

A Rehoboth Beach man faces weapons and drug charges following a July 5 traffic stop in Rehoboth Beach.

Police say the man was driving a BMW S5 at 2:18 a.m. in Dewey Beach when he committed traffic violations. They stopped him near Highway 1 and Scarborough Avenue Extension and found a large fixed blade knife hidden in the glove compartment. Police also said they found marijuana, suspected promethazine and drug packaging material in the vehicle.

Police charged Kyle Kilgo, 21, with possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, criminal possession with intent to deliver, criminal possession of a level 1 quantity of a controlled substance and other drug and traffic violations. He was booked by Justice of the Peace 7 into Sussex Correctional Facility in default of $8,400 secured bail.
