UNM women’s basketball team offers Abrielle Pavia

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Throughout his tenure as UNM women’s basketball coach, Mike Bradbury has consistently tried to keep New Mexico’s top talent in the Land of Enchantment. Now, another young player has earned a spot with the Lobos.

Abrielle Pavia, the younger sister of former Volcano Vista, NMMI, NMSU and current Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia, recently attended a camp with her club team and caught the attention of the UNM staff. Even though she is only an eighth grader and part of the Class of 2029, she posted on social media that she received an offer.

“I was shocked, I’m not going to lie,” she said. “I was very honored, very humbled and I felt great. It was a really good feeling.”

Abrielle has been playing basketball since she was four years old. She worked with Fenton Fundamentals and joined the Nike EYBL circuit this summer. She plans to play at a high school in Albuquerque, but she doesn’t know where yet.
