Los Angeles Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis didn’t have a long offseason, with both committed to playing for Team USA at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

The U.S. basketball team has managed to assemble one of its greatest teams ever thanks to James committing early and a number of other superstars doing the same. After finishing third at the FIBA World Cup last summer, the U.S. is sending its best team to Paris looking to bring home the gold.

In addition to James and Davis, Team USA also includes Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Jayson Tatum, Anthony Edwards, Devin Booker, Bam Adebayo, Jrue Holiday and Tyrese Haliburton.

They all got together Friday night in Las Vegas to begin their training camp for the Paris Olympics and it was like the Avengers reuniting for the first time. James and Davis, in particular, were very excited to show up to camp for their first Olympics since 2012:

After his arrival, LeBron notably told Curry that it was “time” for the two to team up. This is Curry’s first Olympics with Team USA. James also joked that he wanted to have a good summer and that he wouldn’t be able to do that with teammate Davis on the team with him.

When asked what he was most looking forward to, James said, “Just playing ball. That’s what I love to do. It’s going to be fun.”

Meanwhile, Davis tried on his No. 14 USA jersey for the first time since 2014. He didn’t really get to play when he was on Team USA at the 2012 Olympics out of college, but he should be a big part of the rotation this time around, more than a decade later.

LeBron James expected to start for Team USA

While it remains to be seen whether Anthony Davis will start or come off the bench, LeBron James is expected to likely be in Team USA’s starting lineup as a power forward.

Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Joel Embiid are also expected to start, leaving a spot to fill with Davis, Kawhi Leonard, Jayson Tatum and Anthony Davis all candidates.
