EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Recent “The Voice” contestant and Westfield native Madison Curbelo performed live Saturday night in Easthampton.

Curbelo recently wrapped up an electrifying run on NBC’s “The Voice,” where the talented young singer-songwriter finished in the top nine.

Her powerful performances on “The Voice” have captivated millions, and on Saturday night, she returned home for her first local performance since appearing on the show at the CitySpace Blue Room in Easthampton.

“It’s been amazing since I’ve been on the show,” Madison said. “I’ve learned so much about myself and the music that I want to make…and it’s something that I’ve always wanted to do, is to headline a show so close to my hometown. The fact that people have come out is really amazing, and I’m so grateful.”

The national television star performed some of her original songs, her iconic acoustic pop covers and her dynamic new band in front of an enthusiastic audience. And for Curbelo, being able to perform so close to home means being able to sing in front of the many young people who admire her.

“I’ve had a few young kids come up to me and say, ‘We’re so excited about the show, we loved your voice, we want to sing like you one day.’ And that means the world to me because that’s what I’ve always wanted to do, to be a role model for some people and to be able to sing, especially for young people. It means the world, it’s incredible.”

One of Madison’s biggest fans told 22News that the singer wants to sing like her.

“Yes! Because she teaches me to have confidence in myself,” said Audrey of Chicopee.

One of the songs Curbelo sang Saturday night was the exact song she wowed all four judges on “The Voice” with, Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me.”
