Josie Gibson set for I’m A Celebrity ‘after being offered six-figure deal to leave Strictly’

Josie Gibson is set to star in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ after being offered a six-figure sum.

ITV bosses have reportedly beaten off competition from Strictly Come Dancing bosses to secure the This Morning presenter for this year’s series, and the “incredibly down-to-earth” star is set to bring plenty of laughs to the jungle.

An ITV insider told The Sun newspaper: “Josie is hugely popular with This Morning viewers and producers were determined to get her.

“She is seen as the perfect fit for the jungle as she is already a familiar face on ITV and will bring her fan base with her.

“She’s incredibly down to earth and seems to strike a chord with people at home. Plus, they’re confident that Josie will make people laugh on ‘I’m A Celebrity’, as she already does on ‘This Morning’, and will certainly get on well with most of the jungle camp mates.

“For all these reasons, they were determined to capture her. And if she was attracted by the glitter of ‘Strictly’, they weren’t going to let her go without a fight.”

Former ‘Big Brother’ winner Josie, 38, reportedly had a “real dilemma” as ‘I’m A Celebrity’ and ‘Strictly’ battled it out for her signature, but the jungle show appears to have won the race.

The insider added: “Discussions between Josie’s reps and bosses from both shows had been going on for months and presented a real dilemma for the TV host.

“She knows that both shows are hugely popular with audiences and have the potential to boost the careers of anyone who appears in them.”

Josie has risen through the ranks at This Morning in recent years and is now a regular co-host of the ITV brunch show.

She joined the show as a competition announcer and roving reporter in 2019.
