Gwinnett shooting suspects arrested after police check – Your Local News

The Monroe City Police Department reported the following incidents for the period of June 20-27, 2024. Due to its length, this report has been divided into five parts. This is the final part. Please note that an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Civil Litigation – N. Broad St. – The plaintiff was angry with the Valero gas station because he did not receive the amount of gasoline he paid for. Valero personnel advised him that he had received a refund for the gasoline he did not receive. The incident is civil in nature.
  • Walker Dr: A male was stopped on a mini motorcycle in the roadway. He was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm and marijuana. He was arrested and transported to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Firearm – W Spring St & KFC – In reference to the complainant who stated a white male was walking down the road waving a handgun. The area was checked and no negative contact was made with anyone.
  • Suspicious Person – Pannall Rd – In reference to the subject on site living in a shed on the property. Contact was made with the property owner who stated she was not authorized to be there. The subject was illegally removed from the property and given a courtesy transport to the Monroe Motor Inn. All is well.
  • Lost Property – Stone Creek Ct – In reference to the complainant who reported losing her phone at Dollar General. The complainant reported that the phone was beeping at Alcovy St and Walker Dr. The phone was recovered and returned to the complainant.
  • (Wellness Check) N Broad St Card Station – In reference to a named male who went to the checkpoint three hours prior and did not return home. He was not at the checkpoint, WCSO was advised that the vehicle he may have been driving had struck FLOCK at 1850 on Hwy 78 and was asked to check the area.
  • (Dispute) Nowell St – In reference to a call from a third party regarding a dispute at the residence. Contact was made with the couple who advised that they had a verbal argument. There was no sign of a physical altercation. Both parties were advised of possible remedies. Report prepared.
  • Domestic Dispute – St Ives Walk – In reference to a dispute between a man and a woman. The woman was taken into custody for simple assault and battery for punching the man in the face. She was transported to MPD to be fingerprinted and then to WCSO.
  • Hit and Run – Church Street/South Hammond in reference to a gray passenger vehicle that collided with the victim and left the scene.
  • Dispute – Rose Ison Ter – Reference to ex-girlfriend refusing to hand over personal belongings to complainant. Officers remained at a distance while complainant retrieved personal belongings from residence.
  • Dispute – Walton Truck Stop – In reference to a truck driver being disrespectful to staff and refusing to pay for parking. The driver was no longer there when officers arrived.
  • Threats – In reference to a woman who stated she was overwhelmed and did not want to live anymore. The woman agreed to seek help and was transported to Advantage in Athens without incident.
  • Disabled Vehicle – Alcovy Street / Glenwood Drive – A truck hauling a trailer broke down on the roadway. The vehicle was towed off the roadway by a third party. All is well.
  • Attempted Arrest Warrant – Baron Drive, officers responded to the area in an attempt to locate a named suspect. He was observed in the backyard of the residence with a group of males and attempted to flee inside the residence when they noticed officers. He was given verbal commands to stop, but attempted to flee through the residence and out the front door. He was apprehended inside the residence and taken into custody.
  • Emergency Medical Assistance – Ridge Rd; Skyline Trace – In reference to a named male who reported observing a deceased male in the area of ​​Skyline Trace. He advised that he had left the area but was returning on his way to show officers where he was. The area was checked on foot and no contact was made with anyone, including the complainant. All appeared to be well.
  • Suspicious Person – S Madison Ave at 5th Street. Male was pushing a lawn mower on the sidewalk. Contact was made with the suspect to ensure the lawn mower was not stolen. During the investigation, consent was given to search his bag. Several tools including methamphetamine and a pipe were discovered. He was placed under arrest for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
  • Dispute – Perry Street; – In reference to a verbal dispute between two parties. Subjects were informed of possible remedies. Report prepared.
  • Agency Assist – Hwy 138 and W Spring, Gwinnett County BOLO regarding two shooting suspects in a red Honda Fit. WCSO and MPD located the vehicle on Hwy 138 and conducted a felony stop. Gwinnett County Police were contacted and the vehicle and suspects were released into their custody. Use of force terminated.
  • Dispute – Millstone Bluff; Complainant advised that she had a dispute with her boyfriend in Cocina Fuentes. Complainant advised that the dispute stemmed from relationship issues and that the man threw her against a car, dragged her across concrete and took her phone. Report completed, corrective action provided, case number given. A warrant was issued for the man’s arrest for assault and battery.
  • Domestic Dispute – Hwy 138, Great Oaks Senior Living – In reference to a male on scene arguing with the complainant. Subject resisted while the officer restrained him. He was pinned to the ground and taken into custody. Arrest warrants for obstruction and criminal harassment.
  • Search Warrant – Parkway Pl – A male was taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant and a search warrant was issued at the residence. The scene was turned over to the homicide squad.
  • Agency Assistance – W Fambrough St – Assistance requested to contact owners to have tickets issued. Occupants of home refused to open door
  • Domestic Dispute – Tanglewood Dr- In reference to the 15 year old complainant who called because her mother had an argument with her. Remedial action was advised.
  • Theft Report – 3rd St – Complainant ordered 3 cell phones from T-Mobile and one of them went missing. He wanted to document the incident.
  • Harassment – ​​Creek View Dr – Reference to complainant who located a camera attached to a tree facing her backyard. The camera was removed and discarded.
  • Dispute – N Midland Ave – Complainant was called regarding a neighbor dumping trash in his yard, ongoing issue. Civil remedies were recommended.
  • Attempted Arrest Warrant – Perry Street; – Attempted to serve an arrest warrant on a named subject. Subject was located and placed under arrest.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Forest St – Call regarding a silver SUV with Florida license plate making multiple passes on Forest St. Area check, but vehicle was gone when officers arrived.
  • Traffic Light Out – Pavilion Pkwy: In reference to the traffic light out. DOT and Monroe Power are advised.
  • Arrest Warrant – Birch St – A female was observed driving her vehicle and parking in the driveway of her residence. The individual was taken into custody for Assault and Battery, FVA Arrest Warrant and transported to the Walton County Jail.
  • Juvenile complaint – Roosevelt Street – Concerning a juvenile throwing stones. Contact made with all adults and juveniles; mediation used.
  • Assault – W Spring St; Piedmont-Walton. In reference to a female assaulted in the county, turned over to WCSO.
  • Traffic Stop/Arrest – Charlotte Rowell / Ramp 78 – Subject arrested and cited for driving without a license and license plate violation. Fingerprinted and released by Monroe Police. Vehicle was impounded by Taylor’s.
  • Traffic Stop/Arrest – MLK Blvd/Marathon – Vehicle stopped for equipment violation. A probable cause search was conducted and approximately 6 pounds of marijuana was located. Driver and passenger were arrested for DUI. Vehicle was towed by Taylors.
  • Dispute – GW Carver – 13 year old girl was evicted from her home by her legal guardian. Report was prepared and forwarded to DFACS.
  • Traffic stop – Highway 138 at the city limits – a black Kia Sportage was impounded for suspended registration and no valid insurance. A report was filed and two tickets were issued to the woman involved.
  • Commercial Burglary – W. Spring Street (Cricket) – Front door was forced open with a tool, alarm was set off and ripped off the wall, all iPhones on display were gone, appeared to be in a construction site safe where all new phones are kept. Complainant stated they appeared to be two males wearing masks, were wearing hoodies, possibly black, and one had writing on them. The other had markings or writing on his left sleeve. CID was notified of the incident. Detective Lewis was the detective on duty. A check of the area was conducted at approximately 12:24 a.m. and the complaint stated that security cameras showed subjects entering at approximately 12:53 a.m. and exiting through the back at approximately 1:00 a.m.
  • Disturbance – Douglas Street: In reference to the complainant who reported that his neighbours were constantly harassing him with lasers and flashlights with video images. Upon arrival, no video surveillance was observed. Remedial action was advised.
