Oreo has a new flavor and it’s inspired by ice cream

Oreo has released a new limited-edition flavor and it’s inspired by a fan-favorite ice cream.

The cookie brand is launching Mint Chocolate Chip Oreos. Inspired by mint chocolate chip ice cream, Mint Chips combine two classic chocolate cookies, mint chip-flavored creme and tiny chocolate chips, People reports. The cookies will be available in stores nationwide on July 8.

What do mint chip Oreos taste like?

Alexandra Foster of food publication The Kitchn describes the mint chip Oreos as “mind-blowing:

“The vibrant filling is surrounded by classic wafer cookies with an adorable upgrade. In keeping with the ice cream theme, one wafer is embossed with a crisscross pattern that mimics the design of an ice cream cone (a super cute detail that I loved). As soon as I opened the package, I was hit with a burst of mint,” Foster wrote. “It was sweet with a refreshing minty essence. The chocolate chunks were more like little crunchy specks that added texture than the sprinkles you’d expect from a scoop of ice cream.”
