Dr Farooq and Omar Abdullah pay tribute to Shaheed Ghulam Nabi Dar on his 18th death anniversary

Srinagar, July 07 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah paid glowing tributes to former Kulgam MLA Shaheed Ghulam Nabi Dar on the occasion of his 18th martyrdom anniversary. Dar tragically lost his life in a grenade blast in Kulgam in July 2006 while he was coming out of Hazrat Mantaqi (RA) sb Astana e Alia in the main kulgam.

The leaders also paid tribute to five other party workers from Kulgam who succumbed to shrapnel injuries in the same incident.

Dr Farooq Abdullah hailed Dar as an honest politician and an accomplished advocate who dedicated his life for the betterment of the lives of the people of his constituency. “He was a loyal member of the party and will always be remembered for his hard work and humble nature. On this day, I pay tribute to him and pray that his soul rests in peace,” he said.

Omar Abdullah also recalled Dar’s contributions to the development of his constituency and district, highlighting his commitment to public welfare and loyalty to the party. Party Secretary General Ali Mohammad Sagar, Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, MNA Mian Altaf, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, senior party leader Sakina Itoo and others also paid glowing tributes to late Dar.

To commemorate the birthday of Shaheed Ghulam Nabi Dar, a Fateha-Khawani Majlis will be held at his graveyard, followed by a special memorial function at HC Gam Kulgam on July 9. (KNS)
