Meet the Group Behind Trump’s Fascist 2025 Agenda

The Heritage Foundation’s big red fingerprints seem to be all over the news. The group wrote Project 2025that would gut the federal government, fill it with MAGA loyalists and, in his words, “deconstruct the administrative state.” The New Republic He called Project 2025 “a remarkably detailed guide to transforming the United States into a fascist haven.”

They are delighted with the Recent Supreme Court Decision on Immunitydeeply involved in attacks on diversity and equity initiatives and obsessed with strange things like Prince Harry’s Visa.

And they promise not to kill all the leftists, provided we sit quietly and accept to their domination over the nation.

The Heritage Foundation that so kindly offers us a life in exchange for our freedom is a malignancy that has been brewing within the group for decades. Despite having a name and a network of donors that stretch back five decades, today’s Heritage Foundation is a far more dangerous beast.

He has wealth, connections and democracy in his sights.

The Heritage Foundation was founded in 1973 by the founder of Coors Brewing and conservative strategists Paul Weyrich and Ed FeulnerThey believed that President Richard Nixon had moved too far to the left and that other Republican organizations were too timid. They promoted a strong anti-communist message and a social conservatism that recognized no wall between church and state, and pushed for smaller government.

The group quickly seized power under the presidency Ronald Reaganwho adopted his “Mandate for Leadership” — a 1,100-page policy document — and distributed it to his staff. Much of what became known as the “Reagan Doctrine,” both domestically and internationally, was a reworking of this Heritage Foundation product.

Having successfully established a strong foothold within the Republican Party, Heritage has maintained this position under both Democratic and Republican administrations. They were instrumental in shaping Republican positions against President Bill Clinton’s universal health care plan. The Heritage plan, “Ensuring affordable health care for all Americans” would continue to be the base of Governor Mitt Romeny’s health care plan for Massachusetts and which would eventually form the heart of the Affordable Care Act. At that time, the Heritage Foundation attacked him.

Like many organizations, Heritage has experienced leadership changes, staff purges, philosophical shifts, and struggles to maintain its place in a changing political environment. But the Heritage Foundation as it exists today is practically a toddler. With a razor blade.

This iteration of the Heritage Foundation dates back to the pandemic, when the group’s former head, Kay Coles Jamesmade the mistake of trying to follow safety instructions, including closure of the group’s offices for an extended period and put up signs encouraging mask-wearing. This led to his replacement by a conspiracy theorist Kevin Robertswho had been on Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s COVID-19 Task Force and immediately pushed Heritage to file a lawsuit against stop all vaccination requirements.

Under Roberts’ leadership, the group quickly moved away from its traditional conservative positions and toward Christian NationalismHe retained his funding and deep roots in the Republican Party, but he began lobbying for ousting of current Republican leaders and for the historically warmongering organization of oppose military aid to Ukraine.

The organization has also moved from support former Vice President Mike Pence in the months following the January 6, 2021, insurrection, to condemn Pence for his refusal to accept Trump’s plans and Order members to remove posts opposing the January 6 violence.

If the MAGA movement is the equivalent of the “brownshirts” with their red hats, Heritage is now the SS, the real power behind the throne. It is they who plot and plan, so that Trump can stand there and revolt against wet batteries.

Anyone on the right is currently amused by Roberts’ not-so-subtle allusions on the murder of progressives who oppose Trump Maybe you should think twice about it. When the long knives come outHeritage will also be there for them.

Because whatever legacy this group represents, it is certainly not about American democracy.
