US Surprised by Yemen’s Naval Tactics, Fails to Stop Red Sea Retaliatory Operations

The leader of the Yemeni resistance movement Ansarullah says the naval tactics of the Yemeni armed forces in the Red Sea caught the United States off guard, adding that Washington’s advanced military technology failed to stop the Arab country’s retaliatory operations.

Abdul-Malik al-Houthi made the remarks in a televised speech on Sunday, where he praised Yemen’s advanced military and missile capabilities against the US-British-Israeli coalition, which he called a “triangle of evil.”

Houthi went on to say that Yemen’s naval operations have frightened the enemies, noting that the US aircraft carriers in the Red Sea are escaping rather than attacking and that its MQ9 Reaper Drones are continually being shot down.

He also stressed that many countries were not caught in the trap set by the US-led coalition against Yemen and even had direct coordination with the Arab country.

“The biggest failure of the United States was its failure to include the Red Sea neighboring countries in operations to support Israel. Washington also failed to force Arab and neighboring countries to attack us from their soil,” he said.

The Ansarullah leader also said the US was trying to use Saudi Arabia to exert pressure on Yemen, warning that any Saudi “hostile action” against Yemen would benefit Israel and the US.

“America intends to drag Saudi Arabia into an all-out war with us and bring the situation to a level of extreme tension,” he said, while calling for unity and cooperation among Muslims.

He also stressed that Yemen will not stand idly by in the face of aggression and watch the country’s economy collapse.

Yemeni forces have repeatedly launched drones and missiles at Israeli ships and at Israel since mid-November last year, claiming they were acting in solidarity with the Palestinians against Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip.

In January, the United States and Britain began striking Yemen in an effort to deter the country from targeting Israeli ships carrying weapons and logistics for the assault on the besieged enclave.

Despite months of US-led airstrikes, Yemeni forces have continued their operations, relying on an arsenal of increasingly sophisticated weapons to attack Israeli, American and British shipping in and around the Red Sea.
